Physical Consequences of Divorce:
One need not say again that divorce is stressful. Ranking
just below death on the scale of life's most stressful events, it
can take its toll on our health. And as far as health goes,
your skin is a direct reflection of your health and well being.
All too often when going through divorce, there is a lack of energy,
and motivation to look your best.

Personal grooming begins to suffer and chronic
self-neglect will cost you in terms of diminished self esteem and
confidence. According to a published article in the Archives
of Dermatology, stress impairs the skin's ability to function
properly, heal wounds, and recover from injury. The negative
effects of divorce can denude the immune system, increasing your
risk for inflammation, accidents, cancer and chronic disease.
Needless to say, while going through divorce, it is imperative to
maintain your health and that includes your skin's health and
appearance.
In my practice as a holistic physician,
specializing in aesthetic medicine and age management, I often see
women and men going through divorce seeking to improve their health
and appearance. This is a healthy sign of good self care.
When you look in the mirror and like what you see, your self
confidence is bolstered which increases your sense of self- reliance
and resiliency to weather the many storms of divorce.
Initially, I will take a general health history to evaluate how well
you are handling the stress of the divorce. From there, we
decide if laboratory evaluation is needed and plan out a strategy to
improve your health and appearance. Since I specialize in only
non-surgical facial body rejuvenation, the added stress, risks,
significant down time and possible complications of traditional
surgery is eliminated. Most clients can improve their
appearance immediately with dermal fillers and Botox Cosmetic to
fill in lines, wrinkles and correct deeper ones. If they can give
up a weekend for healing, Micro Laser Peels to remove sun damage,
brown spots or acne scars is a winner. Just these minimally
invasive treatments alone can give you back the sense of being just
a bit more in control and looking just a little bit younger.
Addressing the inner body, I make sure you are
eating properly, taking the specific oral supplements that support
and maintain your immune system and exercising regularly to balance
your weight and hormones. Last, but not least, I assist you in
an acceptable method of calming the mind such as yoga, meditation,
bio-feedback, or journaling.
Divorce can impact a heavy toll on your health
and appearance, sometimes lethal. Regain control.
Recognize the possible pitfalls and come out on the winning end,
looking and feeling phenomenal.
